So, the Yorkiepoo is a tiny and loveable doodle breed, and it’s hard not to fawn over their adorable size. If you’d like to find out more about why the Yorkiepoo is so tiny, keep reading, as we have everything you need to know.

The Yorkiepoo Growth By Size

There are a few size variations when it comes to the Yorkiepoo breed. However, a Yorkiepoo, bred from a Toy Poodle and a Yorkie, or a Yorkiepoo backcrossed with a Toy Poodle, could be much smaller than a Yorkiepoo mixed with the Miniature Poodle.

Average Adult Toy Yorkiepoo Size

The tiniest and one of the most adorable little doodles is what we see in the Toy Yorkiepoo.

The toy Yorkiepoo is the result of breeding a Toy Poodle with the Yorkshire Terrier. Your Toy Yorkiepoo will generally have a height of 7 to 10 inches (17 to 25.4 cm).

Average Adult Mini Yorkiepoo Size

Your Mini Yorkiepoos are bred from a Miniature Poodle and Yorkie or Yorkiepoo. Because this breed will be a bit bigger than the Toy Yorkiepoo, you can expect their full-grown size to be approximately 7 to 15 inches (17 to 38 cm).

Is There A Standard Size Yorkiepoo?

It’s essential to get your hybrid dogs from a reputable breeder because a responsible breeder will always breed with appropriate sizes of dogs to prevent health complications and breed ethically.

So, no, there is no standard-size Yorkiepoo. Breeders will not, and should not, breed a standard-size Poodle with a Yorkshire Terrier or Yorkiepoo.

How To Measure A Yorkiepoo’s Height

When you want to measure your Yorkiepoo’s height, it’s more complex than measuring your own height. A dog’s height isn’t measured from head to paws but from the highest part of their shoulder blade to their paws.

The part of their body where the top of the shoulders meets the neck is also known as a dog’s withers.

So, to get accurate measurements, you’ll measure from the highest part of their body, the shoulders down to their front paws. Here’s how to measure your dog’s height:

  1. First, grab a measuring tape and your Yorkiepoo. Ensure that your dog is standing on even ground. Because your Yorkiepoo is so tiny, you can measure them on a table, so you don’t have to bend down so far.
  2. Beginning at their withers, hold the measuring tape and run it down, parallel to their body, to the ground.
  3. Write down and record their height.

How Much Will Your Yorkiepoo Weigh?

The weight of your Yorkiepoo will be determined by whether they are a Toy or Miniature Yorkiepoo. This is because toy Yorkiepoos are even smaller than the Mini Yorkiepoo. For example, look at the following graph to see the difference in weight:

TypeWeight
Toy Yorkiepoo3 to 6 pounds (1.3 – 2.7 kg)
Mini Yorkiepoo10 to 14 pounds (4.5 – 6.4 kg)

How To Measure A Yorkiepoo’s Weight

If you want to measure your Yorkiepoo’s weight, it’s more challenging sometimes than it would be measuring your weight. Why? Even though Yorkiepoos are small enough to fit on a scale completely, even a well-trained Yorkiepoo can have their stubborn moments and not want to sit still on the scale.

So here is the best way to measure your Yorkiepoo’s weight:

  1. Get your scale, measure, and record your weight first.
  2. Pick up your Yorkiepoo and hold them while standing on the scale.
  3. Record the new weight, which will be the total weight of you and your dog.
  4. Now subtract your weight from the total weight together with your Yorkiepoo, which will give you your Yorkiepoo’s accurate weight.
  5. So, for example, this is what your calculation could look like:
PoundsKilograms
Your weight recorded12557
Your weight and Yorkiepoo’s weight recorded together13762.14
Total weight subtracting your weight137 – 125 = 1262.14 – 57 = 5.14
Yorkiepoo’s weight12 pounds5.14 kilograms

If you don’t have access to a home scale and want to know how much your Yorkiepoo weighs, your vet can weigh them. This is a part of the general checkup procedure, so I don’t recommend just paying the vet bills out of curiosity. But when you’re at the vet, you can ask them to weigh your Yorkiepoo while you’re there.

And some vets have scales in the waiting room, which they are happy for you to drop by and use, so just ask!

Will the Male or Female Yorkiepoo Be Bigger?

There isn’t much of a size difference between the male and female Yorkiepoos. Either gender is excellent for making the perfect lap dog because their average adult size will be 7 to 15 inches (17 to 38 cm) in height, and they weigh 10 to 14 pounds (4.5 – 6.4 kg).

This, however, is dependent on the genes of your Yorkiepoo’s parents. So there is a slight chance that the male Yorkiepoo could grow to be a bit bigger than their female counterpart, but the size difference isn’t really noticeable on average.

One way to predict your Yorkiepoo’s adult size is to check their parent’s characteristics.

You can also use a formula to predict your Yorkiepoo’s weight when it reaches adulthood.

Toy Yorkiepoo Size Prediction Formula:

Toy Yorkiepoos will reach half of their adult weight by two to three months old, and their final adult weight will be reached at six to seven months old. So by 15 weeks old, you’ll be able to estimate your Yorkiepoo’s weight by doubling it.

Adult Weight = 15 weeks weight x 2

ExamplePoundsKilograms
Weight at 15 weeks old x 23 x 2 = 61.4 x 2 = 2.8
Adult weight estimate6 pounds2.8 kilograms

Mini Yorkiepoo Size Prediction Formula:

Miniature Yorkiepoos usually reach half their adult weight by four to five months old, and their final adult weight will be reached at seven to 12 months old. So at 18 weeks old, you’ll be able to estimate your Mini Yorkiepoo’s weight by doubling it.

Adult Weight = 18 weeks weight x 2

ExamplePoundsKilograms
Weight at 18 weeks old x 25 x 2 = 102.25 x 2 = 4.5
